The Apprentice Season 2
My favorite episode thus far in Season 2 is episode 8, when the two teams had to make an ad for the New York Police Department.
Task Description:
To create a recruiting ad for the NYPD with with Donny Deutsch's advertising firm.
Team Leader's:
Mosaic Leader~ Andy
Apex Leader~ Elizabeth
Reward for the winners:
The winning team got to watch their ad play on a large billboard in Time Square.
Who was taken to the board room:
There was no final board room for team Apex. Trump fired someone in front of the whole team instead of the group of 3 who go back into the board room from the losing team.
Who was fired and why?:
Apex's team leader, Elizabeth was fired in the board room. She was fired because she was very indecisive and allowing her teammates to easily change her mind. Also she was a poor leader for her team.
Why I liked the episode:
I liked this episode because watching them create an ad was very interesting. The viewers got to see the "behind the scenes" of them filming and their finished product. I also like the episode because the viewers got to see someone being fired in a completely different way then normal.
Business Lesson:
Trump used the phrase "you have to love it" a lot throughout the episode. I think the phrase fit the episode because the leaders had to love their idea for the ad in order for it to be successful. Also, the idea came into place when deciding who should go because Elizabeth didn't love her idea and ended up getting fired.

Bruins Current Event

On Friday, December 9th, the Boston Bruins held their annual holiday toy shopping event. This event was first created by former Bruins player, Ray Bourque. All the players on the current roster went to Target in Watertown, MA, shopping for children's toys to donate to over 600 children unable to celebrate the holidays at home. The toys donated from the players and coaching staff will be given to children located in the  Boston Children's Hospital, Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center, MassGeneral Hospital for Children, Shriners Hospital for Children, Franciscan Hospital for Children, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. The Bruins holding this event helps them give back to their community and helps raise awareness for the children in the hospitals. Also, by the Bruins giving back to their community it makes the fans feel like they are appreciated even more.

Survey Responses

My survey got eleven responses and almost everyone would sign up for a school wide remind. The results gave me different suggestions about what type of texts to send out to. Everyone that voted said they would want school updates, like to know when snow days are. From this survey, I learned a lot about peoples interests in the school like how 90.9% of people want sports updates but only 36.4% would want drama updates.

Marketing-Real

The project my group and I have decided could help RMHS is to put bulletin boards around the school to inform people of upcoming sporting and drama events. The three ways we can get the bulletin boards are by talking to Mr. McSweeney and Mr. Bakr, also we can get a teacher to help us with the idea, lastly we can buy the bulletin boards and set them up around the school.

Rainbow Loom

Rainbow Loom was a huge fad during 2011. The Rainbow Loom was a peg board and rubber bands that made bracelets. These bracelets could be made in all different styles, from simple to complex. The people who were most attracted to the Rainbow Loom were kids ages 8 to 13ish. The reason Rainbow Loom was appealing was because they could be worn as bracelets or traded with others. The Rainbow Loom was a fad because kids loved wearing stylish bracelets. A fad that has taken Rainbow Loom's spot is Lokai bracelets.

Research Project #1

    The National Toy Hall of Fame is located inside The Strong, which is located in New York. The Strong has one of the largest and most comprehensive collection of historical materials related to play. The Strong also has the International Center for the History of Electronic Games and the World Video Game Hall of Fame. Currently, there are twelve different toy finalist competing to be one of the two or three toys that will take place in the hall this year. The top five finalist are;
1. Bubble Wrap
2. Care Bears
3. Clue
4. Coloring Books
5. Dungeons and Dragons

My personal reaction to the top five toys is that they are all things that have already been around for a long time. I found it funny that bubble wrap is one of the top five toys because it used for packaging and it doesn't seem that safe for kids to be playing with. I also think  that the Care Bears and Clue will end up in the top two or three because they've been around for a while and they have always been loved. It is smart for these toys to get involved in the Toy Hall of Fame because it will help them sell more of them and make more money.

I am in the 10th grade. There are five people in my family, my mom, dad, younger brother and younger sister. We also have two dogs. My favorite subjects in school are English and Spanish. My out of school interests include dancing and playing soccer. My favorite tv shows are Big Brother and One Tree Hill. Two movies that I enjoyed are The 5th Wave and Finding Dory. When I'm not busy, my favorite thing to do is hang out with my friends. If I could go out anywhere to eat tonight, I would most likely go to Bertucci's.
